How do you store silicone sealant?
Proper storage of silicone sealant is important to maintain the quality, workability and durability of the product. Pay particular attention to the storage conditions, expiry date and the way an opened cartridge is sealed.
Store the silicone sealant in a cool and dry place
Preferably store the silicone sealant in a dry place between 5°C and 25°C. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures or moisture.
Always check the expiry date
Silicone sealant has a limited shelf life. Use the product before the expiry date to guarantee optimal performance.
How do you store an opened silicone sealant?
Seal the nozzle of an opened cartridge as well as possible to limit exposure to humidity. This helps prevent the sealant from drying out or curing.
Not sure whether the silicone is still good? Squeeze a small amount onto a piece of paper and check the structure and drying before using the product.
